eGaming Integrity has been named Independent Online Gambling Assurance Provider of the Year 2026 at the UK Enterprise Awards, recognition for the Isle of Man-based firm’s work helping regulated online gambling operators test whether compliance controls work in practice.
The UK Enterprise Awards are run by SME News and are meant to recognise independent businesses delivering specialist services across sectors. Manx.News reported that the accolade highlighted eGaming Integrity’s internal audit reviews, which assess whether operators’ procedures and controls meet standards in regulated markets.
The company says its audit-led services include internal audit programmes, safer gambling evidence reviews, regulatory-readiness assessments, and reviews of anti-money laundering and know-your-customer standards. It also says its practitioner-led team includes former regulators and senior compliance specialists.
Emma Shilling, the firm’s director, said the award recognised the reason the business was created. She said responsible operators want to know where they stand before problems appear, and that the team’s experience 'from both sides’ helps it understand where processes break down and how operators can make practical improvements.
The award comes as gambling businesses face increasingly detailed expectations centred on customer protection, financial crime prevention and evidence-based compliance. Recent regulatory settlements have shown that operators and suppliers must demonstrate how their controls work in everyday situations, keep appropriate records, review risk effectively and show that customer interactions or compliance decisions were handled consistently.
Separately, the Gambling Commission says its security-audit advice requires an annual audit by an independent auditor against the Remote gambling and software technical standards. Newly licensed remote gambling operators must complete a first audit within six months of the granted licence, send the full report within seven days of the due date, and complete later audits annually by the set deadline.
The Commission also says the audit scope must cover all RTS security elements, that a good audit cannot rely only on documentation, and that auditors should gather evidence, review procedures and meet staff. It must be told without delay if an audit identifies major non-conformities.
The wider regulatory backdrop has also shifted. The Commons Library says the Gambling Act 2005 regulates gambling in Great Britain, with the Gambling Commission overseeing licensing, compliance and enforcement. It says the 2023 white paper aimed to update the rules for the digital age and better protect vulnerable people.
