Online gambling giant BetMGM and its land-based casino counterpart MGM Resorts will further increase their responsible gaming (RG) efforts. Throughout the month of March, both brands will be promoting Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) in cooperation with the National Council on Problem Gambling.

MGM Resorts will also increase the exposure of the industry-leading program GameSense across all of its land-based casino resorts. The operator has expanded its own employee training recently and dedicated GameSense advisors can now be found at each MGM Rewards desk on US properties. In March 2022, the program will also be fully integrated into BetMGM’s desktop and mobile app as well.

“As we enter our fifth year with GameSense, we remain focused on offering new and innovative resources to our guests, designed to increase responsible gaming awareness and to promote healthy play,” said MGM Resorts CEO & President Bill Hornbuckle. “GameSense remains an instrumental part of our guest service model and we’re confident that it has and will continue to make a difference.”

The partnership between MGM Resorts and GameSense has now reached its fifth anniversary. The program was developed and licensed to the casino operator back in 2017 by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC). Since then, it has been developed further to create a safe environment for all customers and keep gambling fun. It features advice on different gambling variants such as the lottery, sports betting, table games, and slots.

Responsible gaming information and educational materials can now be directly accessed by patrons on MGM Resorts’ casino floors thanks to QR codes on a variety of slot machines. Customers can now also contact more than 180 GameSense advisors at the venues themselves thanks to an expansion of the dedicated employee training program. The certification procedure was recently completed and further showcased the commitment of the brand to help its customers in making responsible, informed decisions about gambling.

Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO, said, “Our industry is expanding at a rapid rate as more markets legalize sports betting, and we’re committed to growing the right way. It is important to empower and educate our customers, and the enhancements we’ve invested into GameSense within BetMGM provides the best information and guest services for players to bet responsibly.”

The comprehensive responsible gambling tools have also been expanded in the online gaming experience as well. Both the desktop and mobile BetMGM platforms will benefit from the full integration of GameSense immediately to complement the existing RG tools. First and foremost, it will promote information on how to set limits and explain the basic rules for all available gambling variants on the BetMGM platform through the extensive resource library.

Patrons have dedicated RG tools available to set time and deposit limits to keep track of their own play. The company also offers one of the most crucial tools for problem gamblers, the option to self-exclude — allowing players to voluntarily ban themselves for a predetermined period of time from all MGM brick-and-mortar casinos as well as from the BetMGM online platform.

Providing ample access to support and assistance for anyone concerned about their gambling habits is one of the key features of the program as well. The toll-free customer support center can be reached via phone at 1-866-815-0222, through the PlayNow Live Chat, or at the physical casino’s Rewards desk.

With the expansion of the GameSense integration and awareness, the industry giant takes another leap for its responsible gambling efforts in the fastest growing industry on American soil.
