Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming said they are expanding their PlayersEdge responsible-gambling programme for Responsible Gambling Education Month, adding a new “Chance” campaign, research partnerships and education work aimed at positive play.
The annual September effort is led by the American Gaming Association and is designed to promote gambling literacy, evaluate team-member training and raise awareness of problem-gambling resources. The companies said PlayersEdge is built to speak to different kinds of players, from newcomers and casual guests to more seasoned regulars.
PlayersEdge combines player education, team-member training, research and intervention resources. According to the companies, responsible gambling education has been built into Hard Rock Casino and Seminole Gaming training since 2021, and the programme continues to develop through partnerships with researchers, healthcare professionals and industry organisations.
Paul Pellizzari, Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming’s vice-president of global social responsibility, said responsible gambling is about giving players, team members and guests the knowledge and support they need to make informed choices. He said PlayersEdge investments in education, research and training help advance positive play while strengthening the companies’ ability to support guests who may need help.
The programme itself was introduced in December 2019 as a broad gambling-literacy effort intended to change casino culture. Hard Rock said then that it was designed to cover all gamblers, including those at risk, and to offer basics such as game facts and casino etiquette alongside voluntary self-exclusion and referrals to professional help.
At launch, the company said the effort would be rolled out across all Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming properties and would include a mix of print, digital, web, social and live activations. It also said more than 15,000 guest-facing employees would receive online “Frontline Fundamentals” training, while supervisors and managers would take a classroom module built with the Florida Council for Compulsive Gambling.
The new RGEM push comes alongside Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming’s latest Social Responsibility Report, titled “Amplified Impact,” which they said adds more detail on responsible gambling, anti-human trafficking, environmental sustainability, team members and culture, and community impact.
