Pennsylvania has added 11 people to its involuntary exclusion lists after cases involving children left unattended at casino properties and a counterfeit bills case.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said the exclusions bar those people from gambling in Pennsylvania casinos, using online betting sites regulated by the board or visiting video gaming terminal locations. The latest action lifted the number of people on the board’s various exclusion lists to 1,499.
Two adults were placed on the involuntary casino exclusion list for leaving minors unattended while they gambled. In one case, a woman left a 1-year-old in a vehicle in the Parx Casino parking lot for 2 hours and 41 minutes, while the outside temperature was 80 degrees, as she played slot machines.
In another, a man left a 10-year-old in a vehicle in the Hollywood Casino York parking lot for 18 minutes while he gambled in the sportsbook. The board said its actions are meant to reinforce that adults are prohibited from leaving minors unattended in parking lots, garages, hotels or other areas at a casino, because doing so can create a dangerous environment for children.
The board also placed a man on the casino involuntary exclusion list after he was found with 28 counterfeit $50 bills, some of which he used at table games. Five other people were placed on the casino exclusion list, and three more were added to both the casino and interactive gaming exclusion lists.
The board has paired enforcement with a public-awareness campaign called Don’t Gamble with Kids. Its next meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, in its public hearing room in Harrisburg.
