Galaxy Entertainment Group has launched a World Cup-themed responsible gaming drive in Macau, using the tournament period to promote what it calls rational entertainment among team members and the wider community. The programme, titled “GEG Responsible Gaming Promotional Program: Football World Cup Series,” placed a particular focus on youth.
According to local reports, the campaign had been running since April and was aligned with the Macau SAR Government’s theme, “Learn RG, Keep the Fun Alive.” Galaxy said the effort brought together local social service organisations and community groups, and was meant to deepen understanding of responsible entertainment.
One of the main activities was “World Cup Goal Challenge: Clear Eyes, Responsible Plays,” run with the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Service Coordination Office in the back-of-house areas of Galaxy Macau and StarWorld Hotel. The sessions used interactive games, informative displays and on-site counselling to deliver responsible gaming messages.
The company said the activities were designed to help employees better recognise gaming-disorder risks, spot warning signs and understand where support is available. By taking the programme into staff-only areas, Galaxy said it was targeting people who work in the gaming industry as well as general awareness efforts.
Galaxy also extended the campaign beyond the workplace. After taking part in the “RG Man Competition — World Cup Special Edition” organised by the Macao Leisure Industry Employees Home, it mobilised team members to carry the messaging into the community during the World Cup period.
The wider push also included support for the “World Cup Forum Theatre Tour ‘Gambling on the Line’,” with gaming-related staff attending to promote awareness of healthy sports participation and responsible gaming. Galaxy also backed “Smart Sight MAX,” a limited-time World Cup-themed online prize game, and football-themed community events including the “2026 Responsible Gaming Soccer Competition” and “Let’s Kick! Football Fun Day.”
The campaign sits within a longer-running responsible gaming programme. Since 2008, Galaxy said it has recorded more than 250,000 participations in training and promotional activities, and nearly 140 team members from more than 10 departments have qualified as responsible gaming ambassadors or advisers. AGBrief also said Galaxy is the first integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau to establish a dedicated Responsible Gaming Team, and that Galaxy Macau Casino and StarWorld Casino were recognised by the Macau SAR Government as “RG Model Units” last year after perfect assessment scores.
